Some time ago I had the absolute honour of redesigning the Nerdcore Rising website for director: Negin Farsad. I have also stayed on board to help her out with updates along the way and continue to work at optimizing the website and blog for search engines. Nerdcore Rising is currently ranked #5 in google for the keyword “nerdcore“.
Nerdcore is the newest, dorkiest wave of hip-hop, born out of the internet and made possible by computer-obsessed geeks. “Nerdcore Rising” follows MC Frontalot, the godfather of nerdcore, on his first national tour. Along the way, Frontalot fanatics and music industry notables tell the story of this funny, fascinating, and unapologetically uncool cultural phenomenon.
The CNAM website got a face lift this morning including a new header and some improvements in the CSS styling. It is always nice to be able to go back in a project and apply my new, forever evolving XHTML & CSS techniques.
Milka Vujnovic wanted to improve on our previous business card design. We decided to make the info side white to improve readability and switch the card’s orientation.
Rhona Waxman is a Personal Injury Lawyer from Hamilton, Ontario with over 25 years of civil litigation experience. Rhona’s website was not doing so well in search engines due to older coding practices. I rebuilt it from the ground up correctly and refined her design adding graphical icons and improving the websites look and feel. Rhona also had me set up a Personal Injury Blog for her where she posts Free Personal Injury and Disability Law Resources and FAQ’s.
Years ago I wrote a blog where I posted a photo-chop of numerous Steven Colbert pictures into one. Years later it is found posted all over the blogosphere. This is for those trying to find it on the new site. Go ahead and hot link it.
Milka Vujnovic is a lawyer and mediator located in Westdale Village, Hamilton who has practiced family law for 24 years. The palette used throughout her promotional materials were inspired by the colours in her office (which I might add is gorgeous). For this project I worked closely with Edana Brown from BMH Communications.

Jennifer Levine is a puppeteer and educator down in Montclair, New Jersey. Her puppet show The Miracle on Monroe Street was recently featured at Fringe NYC 2007. I was fortunate enough to meet her through MC Frontalot and have been working on her website ever since. Her old website was coded a few years back and did not conform to new web standards and eventually we decided to revamp and recode the layout.

The bliz; a local hamilton dj and good friend of mine asked me to create him a website. 2 designs later we came up with this vibrant little layout. The site is all CSS and xhtml and is using Joomla! as its content management system.
Shyiem and Marc-Paul came to me to build them a web store for their new clothing line “NVSWEAR”. The site uses time dependant CSS to show different header images of the cityscape throughout the day. The site is all CSS and xhtml and is using Joomla! as its content management system.
Website I did for Sean C and his mix tape series “True Grime” This site is all css and xhtml and features a download counter and some nice smooth anchor transitions using moofx. Don’t forget to download the mix it is free!
After a week straight of coding it is finally done.
Nine05.net is a collaborative events calendar and web community. Our focus is on night clubs and other after hours entertainment in Hamilton and surrounding areas. Site uses SMF forum and is built using almost all css, very little in the way of images.
I am working on a website project that has a big sky in the header and thought it would be cool to have time dependant css files, replacing the header background image in each. After looking around at most of the javascript solutions I found a little snippet of php in which I got my brother mike to expand upon for me to add a sun down and a sun up style sheet as well.

The Best part about this method is it requires no javascript just good old PHP.
A few months ago I got the absolute honour of being asked to redesign dnbnation.com from the ground up. DNBNATION is a website dedicated to pushing the progression of drum and bass to its fullest form of quality. Delivering informative interviews / articles, up-to-date and breaking news, cutting edge dubplate soundbytes, captivating videos, on-hand knowledgeable staff and an exclusive mix series.
We used Joomla! as the content management system, and went with a full screen, table-less xhtml & css layout. The site is w3c valid and it uses very little in the way of images making it very quick on load times. I also went to great lengths to ensure compatibility including a collapsing column on the front page when the user’s screen is under 750px width as well as dynamic font sizing. I was also asked to design a lightweight custom php forum skin to match the site.
All in all I had a blast designing and coding this site, and would like to thank the whole dnbnation.com team for asking me to do this and their hospitality.
